Heidi is available for conferences, retreats, luncheons and small-to-medium group talks. Her talks center around better understanding one’s identity and the direction a person needs to go, in order to live their lives more fully. They are geared towards both the general faith sector and/or writers, specifically. Please contact her for her schedule, and if you have any questions. She’d love to visit with your group!
- Broken Dreams and Detours – When God’s Will Doesn’t Fit Your Plans: In this workshop (or talk), we study the life experiences we’ve encountered, both good and bad. We search out ways to apply those past experiences in ways that benefit others, and as a result, ourselves. Heidi believes everything happens for a reason, one designed for good. If you’ve ever questioned the “why” of tough situations, this class is perfect for your group. Heidi also offers this popular talk in a writer-specific class. It takes a close look at where our career is going, where it is floundering, and ways to redefine success.
- God’s Will- Your message: This talk/workshop features an individual Bible-verse based quiz to help the audience understand the main components of their faith, be it service, compassion, etc. This self-discovery quiz will help you better serve in your faith community, your personal relationships, and your world in general. We’re all here trying to do His will … but our strengths and gifts are as varied as the verses and parables in the Bible. This talk is also available in a writer-specific format, in which we discover ways to use our skills more effectively.
- 5 Steps to a Marketable Devotion: Have you ever read a devotion, and thought to yourself, “I want to do that?” Heidi’s experience, with her writings in numerous devotionals, will guide you through the steps to publication.
- A Cup of Soup: This fun writer’s class will teach you the secrets to seeing your story in print. Anthologies are wonderful collection of short stories, and with hers included in many Chicken Soup for the Soul editions, Heidi can help you construct yours in a way that will make editors take notice.
“Heidi Gaul’s keynote talk at Northwest Christian Writers Association was a message all of us struggling with life’s difficulties needed to hear: “Every little detour–good, bad, or ugly is there for a reason.”
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and being inspired by Heidi Gaul for years through her Facebook posts and “Broken Dreams and Detours”– a sought after and valuable FB group she founded. In October, her words inspired the 70+ people at the Northwest Christian Writers Association meeting to apply their troubles, their past experiences, and weaknesses to the page for more effective writing. “For writing that might better glorify God and draw people, including us, closer.” Her message was well-received and excellent.”
Kathleen Freeman– past NCWA Program Coordinator
“Heidi brings a wealth of knowledge, practical wisdom, and a perfect dose of humor to every class she teaches. Learning from her feels like sharing a warm cup of coffee with a lifelong friend. She has a gift for encouraging writers with both insight and grace.”
Amy Earls — Cascade Christian Writers Conference Director and award-winning author of The King’s Feather
“Heidi’s workshops have drawn a larger audience than the keynoter. She is personable, likeable and relates well to her students. It is my pleasure to recommend Heidi.” – Marilyn Rhoads, past Oregon Christian Writers President
